Learn to Spin - Group Workshop - May 27th
Come and spend the day learning to spin wool into yarn taught by myself at the homestead. Working with fibre from our own flock of sheep we’ll spend the day sorting and washing raw fleece, carding washed fleece by hand and using the drum carder, spinning and plying using drop spindles. You’ll also be able to have a go on my spinning wheel as well as meeting the sheep whose fibre we’ll be using.
The workshop runs from 10am - 3pm and includes cups of tea and coffee (please bring a pack lunch and suitable clothing and footwear for a day outdoors) and you’ll go home with your very own handspun yarn. We’ll either be working outside by the wagon, or if the weather is poor we’ll relocate to working in the barn.
This is a small workshop for 4 adults maximum.
We are located 6 miles from Matlock, Derbyshire.
